Customs entry
into Mexico:
A
valid passport is
required for entry
into Mexico as of
January 2007. Two
bottles of wine are
allowed per
traveler, 12 rolls
of film. A
laptop computer,
camera equipment,
sports equipment,
etc. However,
anything looking as
though it can be
resold in Mexico may
entice a tax from
local customs
agents.
Customs returning
from Mexico:
$800
worth of duty free
merchandise-
additional will
require a minimum of
4% duty. Some
people prefer to
mail some
merchandise back- up
to $200 is duty-free
via mail. Have
receipts ready in
case they are
requested.
