Beaches of Mazatlan
Playa Norte :
Beginning at the point where
Paseo Claussen becomes Av.
del Mar, Playa Norte
stretches nearly 3 miles.
A wide, white sand beach,
this area is popular with
locals and is not usually
crowded. Waves are
gentle in this area for the
most part, although when off
shore storms occur, the surf
may become larger.
The far north end of Playa
Norte, is a popular hangout
for surfers, while a great
fishing spot is located on
the nearby rocks of the
area.
Playa Camaron / Playa
Gaviotas :
This beach area is called
Mazatlan's "Golden Zone," so
named for the "golden
memories" of visitors and
gold in the pockets of those
lucky enough to work here.
Many associate "Golden Zone"
with the magnificent sunset
displays: golden
sunsets reflect on sparkling
crystal sands and gentle
waves- This is the place to
be in the evenings.
This beach also lines Zona
Dorada; the place to see and
be seen in Mazatlan.
This is the most popular
section of Mazatlan beaches
and runs from El Cid, south
to Joe's Oyster Bar.
Playa Olas Atlas :

Waves" and is suitable for
this Mazatlan beach; a
particular favorite for
surfers. This beach
was the first tourist beach
in Mazatlan, and while not
ideal for swimming, it is
perfect for relaxing at one
of the beachfront cafes
while watching surfers catch
waves.
