Living in Puerto Vallarta is
unlike any other place in
Mexico.
I'm
American, from OC, California
and I have lived in several
cities throughout Mexico, for a
total of 4 years as of 2009.
I recently moved back to Puerto
Vallarta after living a year in
Cabo San Lucas. I missed
living in Puerto Vallarta. What
is it that I love about living
in Vallarta so much? Well,
for one, living in Puerto
Vallarta is so inexpensive
compared to the states, I can
easily live like a king here.
My 2k square foot villa costs me
less than 30 dollars a month for
utilities (obviously more during
the summer when I run the AC
frequently.) Champagne
dinners for 2 on the marina can
easily be less than $50.
Fruits and vegetables that are
normally quite pricey in the
states are extremely cheap here,
not to mention far more healthy
and flavorful. This list
could go on...
Aside from inexpensive living in
Puerto Vallarta, there is
something to be said for living
in paradise. There are few
people lucky enough to live
where most people can only
vacation, and there is certainly
a reason Puerto Vallarta is one
of the most popular destinations
in the world- extraordinary
sunsets, beautiful beaches, and
tropical rainforests just steps
from your front door.
I lived in New York before
moving to Mexico. I
thought I would never leave,
simply because I loved living in
a city where there was always
something to do. Puerto
Vallarta has exceeded my
expectations when it comes to
having things to do. For
those who enjoy mainstream
entertainment, there are modern
options; movie theaters or
blockbuster video, gourmet
restaurants, sushi, world class
golf, and designer shopping.
For those who have a taste for
the more authentic Puerto
Vallarta living experience
however, there is no end to
local events and celebrations,
the greatest Mexican food
restaurants, authentic holiday
events, local musicians to see,
countless day trips to nearby
cities and attractions, etc...
Puerto Vallarta truly is a great
place to live. This site
has put together a number of
helpful articles, including visa
and residency requirements for
living in Mexico, event
calendars, and even shopping
guides.
